Ever opened your fridge to cook dinner and realised you're out of something you thought you had? Or gone grocery shopping and forgotten half of what you needed because the list was in your head? The Pantry feature fixes both — it's your home inventory and shopping list, always in sync.
The Pantry gives you two connected lists — what you have at home and what you need to buy. Items move between them with one tap, costs are tracked automatically, and an AI assistant can suggest recipes and build your shopping list for you.
Track everything you currently have at home with quantities and prices.
Items you need to buy. Move them back to Pantry once you're home.
Photograph a receipt and items are added automatically.
Ask DayJabber for meal ideas and it'll add missing ingredients to your shopping list.
Tap + Add Item in the toolbar. The panel slides open below the toolbar.
Tap the 📦 icon button on the left to open the icon picker. Pick any emoji to represent the item. Defaults to 📦 if skipped.
Enter the name in the text field. Press Enter or tap Add — quantity and price are optional.
If you add an item that already exists, the quantity increases instead of creating a duplicate.
💡 Add a price to track your total pantry and shopping spendA grid of common household items appears — groceries, cleaning supplies, and more.
If the item already exists in your list, quantity goes up by 1. Otherwise it's added with quantity 1.
Ever bought 3 of something because you couldn't remember how many you had? Quantity tracking and inline editing means your list always reflects reality — no more duplicate buying.
Tap + to increase, − to decrease. Quantity cannot go below 1 — use delete to remove the item instead.
The name becomes an editable input. Type the new name then press Enter or tap away to save.
If no price exists you'll see a faint + price placeholder. Tap it to enter or update. Press Escape to cancel.
A small icon picker appears inline. Pick a new emoji and it saves immediately.
💡 All edits sync instantly — no Save button neededThe item is removed immediately.
⚠ Deletion is permanent. Use Archive if you might want the item back.Finished your grocery run? Instead of deleting everything you just bought and re-adding it next week, just move items back to Pantry. Your history stays intact and your running cost totals stay accurate.
Items live in one of two states — In Pantry (you have it) or Shopping List (you need it). New items are added to whichever tab you're currently viewing.
Items in Pantry show a green Move to Shopping button. Items in Shopping show an orange Move to Pantry button.
The tab bar always shows the current count and total value of priced items in each list.
Start typing and the list filters in real time. Only items in the currently active tab are searched.
Letters with matching items are highlighted in blue. Greyed-out letters have no items. Tap any blue letter to scroll straight to the first matching item.
If an item name is clipped with "…", tap the name text to expand it fully.
Seasonal items like Christmas pudding or BBQ supplies only show up part of the year. Instead of deleting and re-adding them, archive them and restore when the season comes around.
The item disappears from your active list but is not deleted.
Tap 🗄️ Archive in the top toolbar. A drawer slides in showing all archived items.
Each archived item has two restore buttons — 🏠 Pantry or 🛒 Shopping — so you choose where it goes back to.
Just got back from the supermarket with a bag full of groceries? Instead of manually adding each item, take a photo of your receipt and let DayJabber read it for you.
Your device's file picker or camera opens. Select a photo of your receipt.
The button changes to ⏳ Scanning… while DayJabber reads the receipt. Usually takes a few seconds.
A confirmation dialog shows the items found. Review before confirming. Once confirmed, items are added to your pantry and prices are recorded.
💡 Receipt scanning also logs the spend to your Expenses automaticallyIf a scanned item matches something already in your list, the quantity is increased rather than creating a duplicate.
Staring at a half-empty fridge wondering what to make for dinner? Ask DayJabber what you can cook with what you have — and it'll automatically add anything missing to your shopping list.
The AI Assistant bar sits just above your item list. DayJabber is a pantry and kitchen specialist — it knows your current inventory and can suggest meals, recipes, and shopping items.
The chat panel opens. DayJabber already knows what's in your pantry and shopping list.
Meals, recipes, ingredient substitutes, what to buy — all fair game. Non-kitchen questions are politely declined.
When it suggests ingredients you don't have, it adds them directly to your Shopping List tab — no copy-pasting needed.
